PUBLIC SPENDING CUTS SPARK BOOM FOR BRITAIN'S PRIVATE REHAB SECTOR

The Telegraph - With clean double rooms, en-suite bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi and an on-site gym, you would be forgiven for thinking that Sanctuary Lodge in Essex is a fancy hotel.
But inside the walls of this property are two dozen alcohol and drug addicts, each paying up to £5,995 a month for private rehabilitation treatment at one of the seven clinics owned by UK Addiction Treatment Centres (Ukat), one of the largest addiction-treating firms in the country.
These individuals are among the more than half a million British adults who are getting treatment for drug and alcohol addiction; of which 53pc have an opiate – codeine, oxycodone, heroin and morphine – dependency, according to the National Drug...>>>
